Coatema Smartcoater
The versatile Roll-to-Roll laboratory platform for printing, coating and laminating:
Quick adjustment of modular coating systems.
The Smartcoater is a unique laboratory machinery that can reproduce complex processes in a vary compact form. The Smartcoater is suitable for experienced users and newcomers to coating, printing and laminating technologies.
With working widths up to 300 mm, standardised assemblies and a modular layout the Smartcoater is a fast, cost-effective laboratory or small pilot production tool.
The Smartcoater can delivery complex products with a minimal use of substrates and chemicals and a short setup time.
More than thirty modular coating and printing systems can be quickly and easily mounted. Technologies including inkjet can be exchanged using a Plug&Play system and any number of 1,000 mm dryer systems can be used. From electrically heatable dryers, NIR and infrared to UV-crosslinked systems, the Smartcoater can be fitted with the systems of your choice.
Both wet and dry lamination can be used and corona pre-treatment, web cleaning and systems for web edge control can be integrated.
Precise tension regulation, in the single-digit newton range, can be maintained using measuring rollers. Accurate start-up curves allow the use of very thin or tension-sensitive materials.
A wide range of options and equipment possibilities allow our customers to configure their optimum plant configuration.
In a standard version for technology newcomers the Smartcoater can be fitted with a 5-in-1 coating system.
The Smartcoater, like all Coatema laboratory systems and pilot machines, can be tested at the Coatema R&D centre in Dormagen, Germany.
Coatema Click&Coat
Maximum Modularity and Flexibility: Click&CoatTM is a revolutionary concept for an endless number of process variants.
Coatema’s revolutionary Click&CoatTM concept leaves the fixed processes of obsolete pilot machine behind.For an unlimited range of individual components that can be put together easily Click&CoatTM is the answer.
Interchangeable Coatema coating heads and individual downstream components can be quickly assembled to create exactly the inline processes required. The Click&CoatTM control technology and flexible cablingwere developed especially by Coatema to provide maximum flexibility.
Coatema's tried and tested Click&CoatTM machinery concept can be customized from more than 30 differentprocess modules. This offers a whole range of configurations that can be combined to create a pilot or full production line that meets the most exacting requirements for performance and quality.
Coatema offers the Click&CoatTM concept in working widths od 300 mm, 500 mm and 1,000 mm.

Coatema Easycoater
The Easycoater is designed to produce high quality products or samples in DIN A4 up DIN A0 quickly and reliably. A slot die, doctor blade, and flat screen-printing unit are available and many additional coating systems can be integrated.
The Easycoater is controlled by a Siemens S7 PLC processer and can create samples or small production quantities of products using various coating and printing methods. The plant is easy to use and offers an electrically heated dryer as standard and optional UV/infrared units. The Easycoater is fully encapsulated and is available in an EEx design. Source extraction is available in the coating area and a glove box configuration with an inert atmosphere is also possible.
Both the ultra-precise granite coating table in the vacuum table variant and the modular holder for the doctor blade and slot die can be motorized. The table movement under the coating system and then under the dryer can be defined in advance, enabling the drying cycle to be precisely regulated and repeated. If the motorized coating gap adjustment option is chosen, an adjustment in the 1µ range is possible. High precision, in every function, allows usage in technologies requiring top accuracy and consistence.
