Weil Technology's competence is machines for sheet metal processing by laser welding and cutting as well as clamping technologies. In the e-mobility market segment, we are on the market with several innovative applications, especially in laser cutting and welding: laser cutting and welding of bipolar plates, laser cutting of electrical sheets, laser welding of stator packs, laser welding of high-voltage theaters, cell contacting by laser welding and punching of radiator fins for power coolers. In the area of sheet metal assembly production our Flexible Laser Solutions ensure increased added value: variable system technology combines efficient laser welding and cutting of sheet metal assemblies with individual concepts and other manufacturing processes. In addition, our TechCenter offers advice on component design suitable for laser welding, validation of components, and production of prototypes and pilot series.

As a machine builder, Weil Technology supports fuel cell applications through innovative system technology with laser welding and cutting for the production of metallic bipolar plates. Our manufacturing solution for PEMFC, PEMEC, SOFC and SOEC relies on innovative laser scanner technology. The patent-pending welding module achieves process-reliable welding speeds of 1000 mm/s, for high output in a compact installation space. The system is equipped with tool holders for interchangeable tools and offers high flexibility. For this purpose, we have developed our own automated clamping technology to control the welding process.

In the area of sheet metal assembly production, for example for the fully automated manufacture of heat exchangers, our Flexible Laser Solutions ensure increased added value: variable system technology combines efficient laser welding and cutting of sheet metal assemblies with individual concepts and other manufacturing processes.
Laser welding cell for bipolar plates

Machine technology has a major influence on the lifetime, quality and cost of a metallic bipolar plate. A wide range of requirements must be met during production.
