About us

IP PowerSystems is one of the leading specialists for Li-ion battery or capacitor cell filling. From R&D filling stations for laboratory use or pilot lines up to automated filling machines for series - we offer the right electrolyte filling technology for every cell type.

Our machines are flexible and quickly adjustable for prismatic, cylindrical or pouch battery cells. Thanks to the modular design, more filling stations can easily be added to quickly increase capacity. Moreover, our machines ensure a precise electrolyte filling with smart procedures like pulsating or preheating of the electrolyte.

For pouch cells, we invented a novel port technology to fill lithium-ion battery cells without a dry room.

In addition, we offer further engineering services as well as sampling and prototyping for our filling applications. Of course, IP PowerSystems also provides after-sales service for all its products and technologies.

We also offer machines that fill pouch cells using a conventional vacuum chamber and sealing of the gas bag.

Unique advantages: Vacuum chamber with short evacuation time, cell filling with non-degassed electrolyte, accuracy of ± 1 mg, high process stability cpk >5, traceability of the filling data, faster filling period thanks to adjustable injection time, integrated pump back function for an easy electrolyte change.

Electrolyte filling machine hardcase (prismatic or cylindrical)

This electrolyte filling machine can attend to cylindrical and prismatic cells. Thanks to special adapters and filling nozzles, a quick and easy change between different cell formats and types is possible.

We offer this machine in two different sizes: with up to 4 or up to 10 filling stations.

Further modules can be added up to the capacity limit of your machine chosen. Moreover, we offer flexibly adaptable parameters as well as smart procedures like pulsating or preheating of the electrolyte.

Our innovative and patended production process delivers advantageous solutions for the most problematic issues of conventional pouch filling, which are:

The pouch foil is 30-50 % larger than the final cell to form the gas bag.
► unnecessary material costs
The open cell needs to be handled in dry atmosphere.
► huge investment and operating costs
The contaminated gas bag needs to be cut off and disposed.
► extensive disposal effort
